I was going home from chool today and came to an intersection with a road. I was on a side street and had a stop sign, there was a guy in front of me turning right and I stopped. I started looking left to see if anyone was coming and i guess I let my foot off the brake and the next thing I know hit the back of him. It was only like 5 maybe 10mph at the most. I got out of the car and the guy was like 25. We looked at the back of his car,(a fairly new passat wagon) and there wasn't really anything there. I said I am sorry and it was my fault and he said his car looked ok and got back into his car and drove off. I followed him( just becasue we both happened to be heading in the same driection) and up ahead at a stop light he turned left and I turned right. I know I am just being paranoid but that was the first he saw the back of my car( he may not have even been looking)and the poll question is what do you think the odds are that he wrote down my lisnce plate number. I highly doubt it considering he said it looked ok but what do you think.

He obviously didn't care. If he did, he would have gotten your info. He probably is wanted by the cops or doesn't have insurance.

I had a similiar situation, except I was following a car with around 1-2 car lengths between us... then suddenly some guy cuts right in between us (i guess he had to make a turn or something), and right after that the first car brake really hard... Of course we all brake and given there wasn't much room between car #2 and me I hit him... I didn't have any damage on my car, and his rear bumper was slightly damaged (I guess from the screws for my front license plate)...
Anyways I think he realized it was partly his fault and he said just forget about it and drove away... I think this was 10 yrs ago and I never heard from him since.

I never turned anyone in if there was no damage to my car. I've had someone hit me a couple times just like you did and I just got out, looked it over, glared at them, and left. My guess is that they'll do nothing.
We need more folks in this world like that guy. I hope to hell you would have done the same! I have a feeling half the vultures on this board would have been seeing $$$$.
