commence beginning to feel overwhelmed :hmm:

think 9 days is enough to:

-completely empty out an apartment (old tenants were evicted, left all their stuff behind; everything is going into a dumpster except their dining room table + sideboard and a cedar wardrobe)
-paint said apartment once it's been emptied
-throw down new linoleum on the kitchen floor
-pack up my entire 1-bedroom apartment

?

I got movers on the cheap, so I'm also figuring that I'm going to be best off moving anything delicate myself (which is mostly just my two LCD tv's and computer/associated peripherals)

How long ago was the eviction? I"m pretty sure you can't just throw away their stuff for xx amount of days.

the original tenant was evicted at the beginning of July, closed her checking account (so her rent check for what would have been her last month of rent bounced), and moved back to her home country (Poland).

she (without the landlord's knowledge or consent) sublet the apartment to another guy, who vacated the apartment and returned his keys at the end of July.

he, as far as I'm aware, chose not to take anything with him and all the furniture was either owned by the lady who went back to Poland or was second-hand from the landlord.

it's all furniture, no clothes/personal effects (if there were, I'd probably box up whatever looked like it could be important and save it for a bit)

in case they come back for it. like, if there were birth certificates, bank statements, letters, etc.

wouldn't take much effort to toss it in a shoebox and throw it on a shelf in the basement for a couple months.

I gather it's a two bedroom apt? I usually paint a room including trim by myself in about 4-5 hrs.

Do you have to do any tear-out on that kitchen floor?

Ok, i'd assume, in the best environnement, it'd go like that:

Day 1: Emptying the appartment + removing old kitchen floor
Day 2: Cleaning the appartment, 1st paint coat in late morning and if all goes well, 2nd coat in late afternoon or in the evening (depends on kind of paint, some dry in 2-4 hours)
Day 3: 3rd coat if color needs it + installing new kitchen floor
Day 4: Let everything dry and set out (paint and new floor) if necessary
Day 5: Pack up your 1-bed appartment and unpack in new one
Day 6: Empty boxes and place your furnitures
Day 7: Wandering why you have 2 more days left and enjoy the weather

Be careful with that. Make sure you get that price in a written contract and don't pay anything up front!!

new apartment: emptied and half-painted (the living room and the bedroom that I'll be sleeping in are painted... the kitchen, bathroom, and second bedroom that I'll be using as an office/guest room are not). the bathroom floor has been retiled and, god willing, new kitchen counter tops and linoleum will be going down tomorrow.

I wanted to refinish the hardwood floors before putting furniture down, but unless someone changes the number of hours in a day, I don't think there's a chance in hell of that getting done before moving day. I'm either going to have to suck it up and not worry about the floors or work around my furniture and crap to do it.

my old apartment is like 80-percent packed up... still need to pack up the two bookcases in my bedroom, take apart some furniture, and toss some odds and ends from the kitchen and bathroom into plastic bags to take up with me.

it's looking like I might actually meet my deadline... it's amazing how much more time you have once your internet and tv services get turned down.

My movers were good about not breaking anything and we had a lot of stuff. You shouldn't have any problem if they know what they are doing.
