Comcast tech just finished hooking up the set-top box and I must say it is officially the most ridiculously excellent picture ever.

...and just in time for Euro 2004: England vs. Switzerland at 8:30. 😀

I just bought my 36" HDTV not two hours ago. 🙂 Now I just have to call Comcast, and buy the HD kit for my X-Box...

I'd like HDTV, but I just can't afford it right now. I had to pass on that deal at Sears b/c even though I can afford the TV, I know that I would end up spending more on other things (and it would bug me to not have the HDTV DirecTiVo receiver -- I don't think I could justify 1k for that).

Ah, well, enjoy!

Eh......can't justify the $300 for the OTA box. Maybe I'll grab an ATI MyHDTV card if a good deal comes along.....OTA and PVR capability for $200 retail.

Me too. Now I'm never gonna finish that stack of books I've been working through.

Ive had an hdtv for a little while, but right now I have to choose between HD and Tivo.

I choose tivo. 🙂 Never even seen HD on my own set. Besides, I dont watch sports or sitcoms.

Welcome to the club!

Sounds like you have more channels than me in NJ though.

I only have CBS, NBC, ABC for special programming and Discovery HD and PBS full time on HD.

you can make an hd adapter for your xbox for a lot cheaper....check out xbox scene for guides and stuff if you don't mind soldering a bit etc...

You've seen it and you know it!

We were in the same situation, and found ourselves watching with the tivo like 80% of the time. To a point where we sold our HD receiver, in favor of a Tivo. But now we have a HDTivo...

TV was $930 with 0% financing for a year....not exactly wallet-melting. 🙂
