My promotion that got me free Showtime just ended and so I went online to change my programming from Showtime to HBO. After I finished the change on their website I fired up the DirecTiVo to change my favorite channels list to reflect the change so that later on when they made the change I would already be set up to see whats on. After I finished I surfed over to HBO and it was already in effect! It took them less than a minute to accept the request and change my package. I know that with the technology this is really not that big of a deal, but it exceeded my expectations and I am continually impressed with how easy life is with my dish.

Yep, I just got an email mentioning I no longer see to be bound by the Rural Telecommunications Act & can use DTV instead of Pegasus Satellite🙂

Pegasus also has filed for bankruptcy protection...
 
A friend of mine uses the web interface to switch between all the pay services. He pays for Basic + 1 pay channel, then he switches on a daily (or more often) basis. He gets a bill 3 and 4 pages long listing all the switching but is only charged for 1 pay chanel.

Heh, that's not a bad idea. I don't think I could keep that up though. HBO is good enough for me as it has good movies along with good original programming. The one thing I will miss from Showtime is Bullsh!t! with Penn and Teller.
 
i am completely satisfied with my directivo save on thing.

the usb ports are not active! i cant use the home networking feature and i really want to try the home media option now that it is free. why the hell would you put usb ports on it and not activate them? makes no sense.

Check out these forums, do a search for Sleeper ISO... it's an awesome tool that will enable the USB ports, among other things...
