I hear a phone conversation coming out of PC Speakers. Is this normal? Does anyone know the cause of this? It's not coming from my PC because even with the volume muted I still hear it. It's too muffled for me to make any sense out of it, though.

LOL  Suuure, thats exactly how speakers are supposed to work. ;)

A speaker is made of a strong magnet and a type of cardboard that vibrates based on the modulation of the electrical signal passing across it. The wire coming from your sound card to the speakers is either picking up crosstalk from a telephone line running across it, or the magnets in your speakers are getting hit with a signal from a neighbor's cordless phone. Whatever it is I can guarantee its an analog signal - anything digital such as a cell phone is going to sound like static.

George was only kissing - but if you move the speakers around and it still happens, you really could wrap your speakers in aluminum foil to fix the issue. :p
