The part of Bucks County, Pa that I live in is (still) bucolic and (generally) peaceful. Sure, we have our share of idiots and angry, low information, right-wing bozos, but still . . .

However, the other, eastern side of Bucks, just above Filthadelphia, is chock full of low lifes and scum bags. Just sayin'. Apparently, some undoubtedly Mafia connected "real estate developers" and their scum spawn do own property out my way. Money, no matter how acquired, talks. Just ask our CIC.

This is what happened just a couple of miles from where I live. :(

In other news, just to cleanse my palate, here is something I participated in back in May.

All I am saying, is give peace a chance,
you know?

Funny thing about PA; south central to west, then north feels like home. I immediately relax when I cross the border. East side is more like this D^:

We really need grocery shops and bodegas and convenience stores and department stores selling MJ as they do cigarettes.

While I don't disagree, in this case it could have been any number of other drugs offered, or prostitutes or something.

The family looked pretty shady. Not typical of the farmers I know.

If they had any reasonable expectation of their son's dealings or proclivities towards violence, I hope they are sued by the victims families and have everything taken from them.

Those poor guys were thrown in a pig roaster. One guy had his body crushed with a backhoe.

Sad.

Wonder what the motivation really was. I didn't read the whole thing. Dinardo is a psycho.

There are two sides to life, the sad side and the side of joy. Whichever you experience, it will pass. That reminds me just this second of a Zen saying.........6 timed down 7 times up. The same idea? Who knows but I would say so.

EDIT: Now I recall a Haiku written by a Zen master on the death of his son:

This little dew drop world
It may be only a dew drop
And yet, and yet......

Perk, we live pretty close to each other then. i'm also disgusted by this as well. I can't believe something like this happened so close to us. One of those murdered was from the town i live in. sometimes i drive past some of these huge farms and estates I wonder about what kind of shady stuff can go down in them, or what some of these people do to own some of these places. Seems like this family is pretty well connected in the new hope area and wouldn't be surprised if they have a mob connection (family cement business??). The area around where i live definitely has alot more what people would deem "low lives" but this family lived in an estate.

I've been to New Hope and nearby Lambertville. Beautiful area. I believe a very wealthy area.

It's a shame what happened. Sickening actuallly. Those boys are going to be in prison for a very long time. I know that the family will play the mental illness card. I doubt it's going to work though.

The drug scene has taken over so much of rural America. Herion and barbiturates are a huge problem. Kids are overdosing. Committing violence. It's scary.

It's sort of rural. More like a part of strip of rural area between metro Phl and metro NYC/ Central Jersey. You can get to PHL or EWR within an hour.

Lots of super rich Fs wanting homes/2nd homes in the country. Philly & Jersey Pharma CEOs, Wall St folks, etc etc. It's where are elites from both cities can meet and have large estates & horse farms.

Bingo! Not an area you would necessarily expect this type of low life shite to go down. :(

What does our culture offer those who have enough not to want for physical things? Where would ordinary people find contact with such knowledge? How would they see it if they were already taught that physical things are all there is. You know, "You only live once and better grab all the gusto you can while you have the chance", right. There's addiction then or praying on the addicted for more toys, no? We live in a very dark corner of the universe that has some pretty farms in it, pretty, at least on one level.

I never liked the adjective bucolic.

Also, no place in the world is safe. You only feel safe as long as nothing happens. But anything can happen at any time. Sandy Hook should have taught us that.

CNN: 10 days of horror: The killings that stunned small-town Pennsylvania
Dinardo has a history of mental illness. He struggled with schizophrenia, said Bucks County District Attorney Matthew Weintraub. The year before, he was involuntarily committed to a mental institution, according to Bensalem Police Department Director of Public Safety Fred Harran.

Quite a few details, especially prior contact with authorities.

Apparently this is what caught them so easily:
A mobile license plate reader spots Dinardo's vehicle, a Silver 2016 Ford pickup truck, in Solebury at 7:49 p.m. The plate reader also spots Meo's Nissan Maxima seconds later, according to the complaint.

Meh. I don't think there's any corner of the world where evil can't spring up. This is a sad story, but except for the material wealth of the perps and the grisly and disgustingly organized method of disposing of the bodies, I don't think this would stand out.

Hopefully this family's wealth gets spread out to the victims' families and all those responsible never breath free air again.

Nothing happens only when you are dead. Fear is the suppression of feeling, the moment something in the present threatens to awaken some old traumatic memory and the mind freezes up to keep that from happening. The way to feel safe is to have worked out your past by allowing to surface what is being repressed.

Bucolic by the way comes from Greek. bous "cow"+ -kolos "tending", in other words people prone to step in bull shit. Is that why you don't like the word? As a person who is self aware that I hate myself, one thing I have noticed is that I pretty much despise anything that suggests a beautiful state to be in. I envy others their bliss. Right? And don't worry about me. I'm a mess.

Don't get me wrong, it's an incredibly beautiful place, lots of history, wonderful architecture (eg old stone farmhouses, colonial buildings, etc.)

Lots of wonderful people, and there is a certain advantage to having a bunch of rich people around as they have money to spend to make the community nice and have lots of amenities..

... But yes, perfect safely doesn't exist anywhere. Horror only surprises us when we've forgot it exists.
