No patch, no nothing. Just stopped. It's not so hard if you set your mind to it. Before you smoke just think "do I really want this"? I have smoked for about 8 years. At one point I was doing 2 packs a day.

Good job.

Another good trick (or so I've heard... I've never smoked) is, when you feel like buying a pack of cigs, to put that money in a big jar instead and watch how much you are saving. Then, when the jar gets full, you go buy yourself something as a sort of prize.

If you think that way you will never do it. Have a little faith in yourself, just go and do it.

I just smoked my last cigarette about an hour ago, and threw away all my cigarette related paraphanelia. No more cigarettes for me, either.

I always found the first day quitting to be the easiest, but by days 2-5 I was about to kill someone for a smoke. After that, it was pretty much smooth sailing for a month or two as long as I didn't spend time around people who smoked. Then month 3 and on was a breeze, I never really thought about them. Now, I'm 9+ months since quitting and my lungs feel almost like they were before I started smoking 9 years ago (yeah, I know, they really aren't).

To all those people who want to quit, just stick with it! Don't give up so easily, fight the urges and TELL yourself NO!

If I can quit, anyone can!

One year, two weeks, three days, 9 hours, 52 minutes and 48 seconds. 7648 cigarettes not smoked, saving $1,395.80. Life saved: 3 weeks, 5 days, 13 hours, 20 minutes.

Download that program at silkquit.org ... it's kinda cool ... after a while you won't need it.
