I like swimming in the ocean. I don't like going to the beach with people who like to just sit on the beach. I can sit wherever I want. I can't swim in the ocean wherever I want.

I just went today, it was funny seeing dumb teenagers getting fined for alcohol.

Including my wife. :( We've been to Maui 3 times, I don't recall her ever going in the water!

Wait, no - she went snorkeling with me for about 3 minutes until the fish scared her.

It was more than half my lifetime away last I went to a beach, I remember the waves were as tall as I was.

I live about a mile and a half from the beach. Haven't been there in well over a year.

I grew up a little more than an hour from the Jersey shore...no matter where I live the rest of my life I don't think I could ever be more than a few hours away from the ocean. I couldn't imagine living someplace in the midwest.

i havent' been to the beach in at least 10 years. when i did go a hurricane came in about a day after we got there forcing us to leave

I went to the beach last weekend. (Oregon)

In my opinion it's overrated.

I much prefer the woods myself.
