First question, what I'm doing wrong that my new laptop with XP home is not able to talk to the XP pro pcs? The laptop can see the LAN Network, but once I click to see beyond that point, only the laptop is showing up. If I go to any other XP Pro pc, them they can't see the laptop. I installed Netbeui, also the same users that are in the others PCs, with the same parameters, but nothing.
Second question, suddenly one of my XP Pro pc can get to the net and do whatever, but when try to connect to another PC within the network, I get the same thing as the laptop. And the LAN Network was working perfectly until two days ago.

First question:
Make sure you have your guest account enabled. I believe when it's disabled, it won't allow it to do a lot of network functions.

Second question:
So both computers just started having this problem a few days ago? Make sure they both have different IP addresses and try to ping them from each other. You might want to check the cables too. Sometimes something simple like that can cause a lot of issues and you'd never suspect it. Good luck.
 
Thanks Scarpozzi, for the first question, I always have the guest account off, and have network connection with no problem.
For the second question, I checked the IP settings and cables and everything is fine, the PC and the laptop can connect to the internet but no the network.
 
No problem, yes they are in the same workgroup. This is not a new LAN Network is being working for the last 2 years. Suddenly, one of my PC and my new laptop are having problem to join the network.

That was what I thought too, that by mistake I set up the IFC on, but is off, in all of the PCs within the LAN. I'm using ZoneLab with a trusted IP range for my LAN.
 
Zone v5 has been having difficulties with some things. If you recently upgraded, that might be an issue. v4.5 seems good though. You might try temp uninstalling Zonelab to see if that helps. Also, XPhome does not log on to Domains where XPpro can use Domain security.
 
Guys, I found the solution, I don't know how I didn't see it. For some reason the NetBeui Protocol was missing from that PC, once I installed back everything went back to normal.
Now I have to find out why the laptop is not getting into the network (same settings, including NetBeui)
