I have two flash drives that refuse to be recognized by windows 8.1

Actually they are microSD card hat refuse to be recognize by any adapter or port they are plugged int. TrueCrypt recognizes them when I plug them in, it allocates a potential drive letter.
they are USB3.0 and other microSD cards work.
 
Did they ever work on this PC? If this is a recent change, look at recent driver/software changes.
