Any recommendations on a good KVM switch. I only just found out today about this device. So I am looking to hook both my computers up to one, but want to find one that is recommended by some of you experts.

We have them at work. I should see what brand they are and I'll let you know. I still have my old shite computer at my cube and I should probably request a kvm incase stuff happens.

Yesterday I came in at 730 and phone didn't work, pc was not showing anything on the monitors and I couldnt do anything until 1pm because that's when a techy arrived to fix my stuff. Turns out the lan port in the cube was fried or busted. I was bored to death and none of the lab PC's had any developer tools.

What interface do you use for your keyboard/mouse (USB or PS/2) and monitor (VGA or DVI or something else)?

I have an ASUS keyboard, a Naga Razor gaming mouse, and two Samsung monitors / DVI at the moment.

OK, I am assuming that your ASUS keyboard is USB. Be warned, DVI KVMs are expensive, and dual monitor DVI KVMs are outrageous.

Avocent 2SVDVI20BND1-001 $334

Avocent is a manufacturer of enterprise-grade KVM gear and Provantage is an excellent supplier (bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of stuff from them at work), but you gotta pay to play.
