i have two ati2evxx.exe running

Hi, i am using WinXP and Omega ATI lastest driver for Radeon series.

i can see that there are two ati2evxx.exe running on the background (alt+ctrl+del)
one is under system, one is under my name(user)

so can i eliminate one of it?

Same here. Don't know why there's two, and I don't know exactly what they do, but the system runs fine with them, and they hardly use any memory, or CPU time, so I'd just let them be. Though it would be nice to know what exactly they are; they aren't in the startup sections of the registry.

Maybe because the gpu is identified by the system in display properties as 9800pro and 9800pro secondary?
It might have to do with the simultaneous display in 2 monitors.

Its the ATI External Event Utility EXE Module. The ATI Hotkey poller service uses it.

I turn off all the ATi stuff.

Go right click 'my computer' select 'manage' click 'services'

make the ATi all the stuff 'manual'

then reboot

a shortcut to that is the windows button on your keyboard + r to bring up the run menu, then just type services.msc and hit ok.

You can also troubleshoot with start/run/msconfig/enter. Just uncheck the ATI hotkeys entry.

there is nothing in msconfig, but TheSnowman's way works!
