Maybe i'm in the minority, but i've always been pleasently surprized at how few times i had problems with Sandisk rebates, in fact none. I've sent at least 5-6 Sandisk rebates in roughly a year, all of them come back fairly quickly without any trouble, no false rejection letters, etc...

i thought most rebates are not handled by the actual company that you bought the product from. They (like Western Digital and Sandisk) hire Rebate company to take care of it.
