I have the worst luck with MP3 players....

First I had RIO 64MB players. After about 6-7 months it went caput. Diamond (then the company that owned RIO) went bankrupt so obviously no warranty.

Then I had Creative Nomad II MG - less than a year later it stopped working (i barely used it during that time span). Well, before I realzied it was broken, the warranty ran out.

Then I had iAudio from JetStudio. After about 5 months flash memory went bad. Again, I'd barely use it during that time span, maybe 2 times a week, when I was in the gym. So I sent it back to them for repairs. Just got it back yesterday - plug it in, still the same problem... Ugh.

Doh... That really sucks 🙁 I just got my first MP3 player from the Dell DJ deal a few weeks ago. Seems pretty solid, but I am still paranoid as hell about destrying it. Sorry for your luck.... Hope mine is better 🙂

What do you think of it so far? Thinking about buying one - at least won't have to worry about warranty with dell. Did you get belt clip and/or arm-band as well? Is it too bulky to take to the gym?

Wow, that sucks. I've had my Creative Nomad Zen NX for just over a year, and its been flawless for me. I also have a Muvo2 that's been great for running, although, I've only had that one for ~4 months, now.

The only one I ever had that I didn't like was an MPIO, which I sold because the Muvo2 4GB player could be had for ~$150. The MPIO worked, it was just a PITA to use.

This is obviously a curse placed upon you by the witch woman you hit with your car 2 years ago. Just try not to hit anymore witches and you will be alright. Have someone else buy one for you with their money, then pay them back with yours, but only in nickels. When you receive the MP3 player, before you turn it on, spin around 3 times chanting the lyrics of your favorite REM song. If you don't like REM, just use any band with 3 letters in their name. This next part if very important. DO NOT pee for the next 2 hours. This is a very important process of breaking the MP3 player curse. Then slap the next person you see. doesn't matter who it is, just slap them. Trust me, it works.

Haven't had any problems with my 20gig iPod yet... but who knows... I haven't had it for a year yet, and lots of things can go wrong so yeah...

diamond and creative make (made) crap mp3 players and they knew it. diamon was simply incompetent and went outta business while creative was an actual manufactuer that had so many problems with their nomad II line their solution was to lower the warranty from 1YR to 90 days (yep, they're probably the first and only company to have a 90 day warranty on a non-refurbished product)

however the 3rd one means you need to stop showering with your mp3 player

My Creative Touch has 1yr parts, 90 days labor warranty. Seems solidly built. No problem so far (2 mos now).

I had the same problem with that model.

Mine actually had several problems. First the AC adapter went out, needed to buy a new one - $20 value. Then recharble batteries died (mind you, I must've used my player less than 100 hours total) - $15 to buy new ones. Then it stopped working altogether.

all that money coulda bought u an ipod😉

god i hate those flash players, their capacity is a joke. yea i had rio..their 1st version no less hah🙂 it sucked doesn't even begin to describe it.

Seeing as how this is the first one, I don't have much to compare it to, but I don't think it's all that heavy.... It came with a leather case that has a belt clip, the only bad part is that the front of the case isn't open, so once the player is in there and running, you have to pull it back out to change tracks or anything like that. Belkin makes a cover that is open in the front... Been thinking about getting that.

I walk with it clipped to my belt and it doesn't skip or get heavy or anything, so I think the gym would be OK too.
