Whats the best way to get the image on a thumb drive? I'm not sure if a similar ISO is available for download legally. I would like to do a clean install.

Thank you

You'll have to make an ISO image of the Win 8 DVD, and then use Microsoft's Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool to install it to a USB drive. Yes, it says Windows 7, but should work just fine for Windows 8.

PC with DVD drive, install and run ImgBurn
Write image file from disc
Install and run Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool
Install Windows 8 ISO you just created to USB drive

Download the ISO here. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows/buy?ocid=GA8_O_WOL_DIS_ShopHP_FPP_Light
Microsoft has a nice utility that will make your thumb drive bootable. Yes I know it says it's for Win7 but it works for 8 to. http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/html/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool
Transfer the ISO to the thumb drive and start the installation. When prompted enter your key and enjoy.

It doesn't allow me to download the ISO without paying and giving my details. Any other way to download the ISO?

Thanks
