I had the pleasure of meeting AnandTech member virtuamike this past weekend, and he was kind enough to take some professional pictures of Boba. :) He has given me permission to post several of the pictures he took on ATOT, and I would like to extend my gratitude and express my appreciation publicly. Thank you again for everything, Mike! :camera:

If anyone is looking for a photographer in the Bay area, please consider him with my highest recommendation: Mike's website

My husband and I are good friends with a wonderful couple who have two dogs, a Rhodesian Ridgeback rescue and a white lab. The pictures were taken in their backyard, and if anyone is interested in quality, affordable dog training/boarding/sitting/walking in the Southern California area, please let me know and I can provide you with a wonderful reference (the male half of the couple is a professional dog trainer/handler and has helped Boba achieve impressive, lasting, consistent results).

Without any further delay, here are the pictures:

Howie, the Rhodesian ridgeback

Moon Doggie, the white lab

Boba carrying around his favorite ball

Trying to take my ball? DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT! (he really needs a good grooming)

A happy dog with his loving owner

Waiting obediently for treats!

Dig, Boba, dig!

A dirty, fluffy face

Kisses for mommy :)

Great pictures...I love the digging one.

His ears were flying around like crazy, I wish I had a video capture of it. The end result was a little hole approximately 3-inches deep. Howie, the Rhodesian ridgeback, dug a hole right under the house, about 2 feet deep and 6 feet long! :Q It would probably take Boba several years to achieve the same result. :p

Which pictures are you referring to?

Often times it's impossible to properly expose the subject without blowing the background highlights when shooting outdoors without a fill flash, i think thats what were seeing here but IMO it doesnt detract from the pictures whatsoever.

Very nice photos! I especially like the fourth one. Most people don't make the effort to get down low the way they should to take good shots of dogs and cats.

Boba is a 1/2 shih-tzu, 1/2 chihuahua mix. I rescued him in March and apologize for inundating ATOT with threads about animals since then, but am particularly enthused about being a new dog owner. :)

That's disgusting. Do you have any idea where that tongue has been?

:p

Very nice pictures. Wow.

Unfortunately, yes. But I forget about it being in dirt and dog butt when he's in my arms, and I retain firm faith in the belief that dog's mouths are cleaner than human's. ;)
