I have started getting a bunch of ?spam? emails with "Mailer Daemon" what does this mean?

When I check these emails it seems to not be spam but looks more like a returned email from my account to an inactive account, except that I did not send the emails. Some of them are spam (with adverts) but others look like returned emails to my account. Is this some sort of new spam tactic to trick you into opening the email? Are others getting this?

I get these from time to time on my hotmail account, before I ditched it. Basically the spammers have a program that makes the return address the same as yours or something, and the emails that don't go through eventually get sent back to you. Atleast this is what I gather. But no worry, no one hacked your account and started using it to send spam mail. Its those frickin spammmers.

Online trick of the old off-line one. Put your buddy's in the sender's corner up top-left, and a bullshit one as the main address. Conveniently "forget" to put on a stamp, and dump in a well-travelled US Postal Mail Box (you know, those blue thingers). Voila, free postage.
