i'm going to get the Asus A7M266 to go with my 1.33GHz Thunderbird. The fact that it may not work right with the Palomino processors doesn't bother me, as I always get a new current motherboard when I upgrade the cpu.

I'm getting my Iwill KK266 from NewEgg tomorrow. I really hope it works... even with standard 100MHz FSB. I at least want it to POST. I really want to unlock my T-bird 850 (also coming tomorrow from NewEgg)... otherwise, why'd I buy a KT133a MB??

Anywyas... I'll keep you guys posted on what I find when I set it up Sat. Morn.

Got my KK266 yesterday. So far so good. I unlocked the L1s on my 900MHz Bird, then closed the last bridge on my L7s for 1.850v and then closed a bridge on my L6 from 1100 to 1110 for a default of 7. Booting now at 700 and will start the testing process up to ? I'll keep you posted.

I started to get worried yesterday about this mobo from these postings. Right now v1.2 seems ok.

Have you guys tried the newest Iwill KK266 BIOS?
Here is the link.

KK266 BIOS

1.Fixed system hang up during copying data sometimes.
2.Added to support lower voltage for furture processor.
3.Added to support the max freq to 200MHz.
4.Fixed CPU frequency error.

Thanks for the info Dulanic i will be looking to buy the a7v133 now. I had heard a number of positives and this is the last i needed 🙂. I have always had success with ASUS and i think i will stick with them.

I don't know what Iwill told you, but the 1.2 BIOS is the KA266, not the KK266. The only KK266 made is the 1.1!! Correct me if I'm wrong. There is a 1.1 & 1.2 KA266, but none for KK266.

Iwill KK266 has two different revisions, 1.1 and 1.2.

I have a version 1.1 and it will not post at 133.
Classy and Microbman did you RMA your board....is this the only out?

I also have a rev. 1.2 board from NewEgg...same mult probs...my tbird 900 either posts at 850 or 1100 after changing multiplier. As to the BIOS mercutio linked too...everything works except #4...it doesn't fix the problem. I'm RMA'ing mine back to Iwill...should be getting a working replacement soon.

Has anybody has any luck with the new bios? I flashed it and I'm still getting the same multiplier errors. 100x9=550/600?!!?!?!:|

I just bought one from newegg (3/4 - received yesterday). I also have a Duron 800 that I unlocked. On auto settings, the KK266 reports 800 - which is right. On ANY higher setting, it reports multiplier of 8.5 (850 if i keep the cpu clock at 100, 901 at cpu clock = 106, etc.). I flashed to the most recent bios before I tried oc'ing. I believe that I unlocked it right, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten 850 (it would have stayed at 800).

Is this the kind of issue that would require an RMA (i.e. it can't be fixed by a BIOS), or can I be a little patient with the BIOS releases (i.e. they should fix the problem eventually)?

Thanks!

Ok, got this from another forum.
With the Duron 800 and the Iwill KK266 version 1.1 , you must connect the L7 bridges to increase the voltage (then decrease in bios after your computer posts)
I am able to do 133mhz fsb now.

hey gerryko, any mention of a duron 700???

Does it take a long time(~15-20 seconds) for your system to detect your IDE drives?? It seems kind of long for me. Also, all my IDE drives are showing up as SCSI in Win2K. Anyone else having these probs???

Guys read my post "Cold Boot problems...". My Iwill with BIOS 2.27 does give me that stupid CPU speed read but who cares (Latest bios 3.0X is supposed to fix that). BUT I have had zero problems with the Iwill Kk266 after I connected ALL L7 Bridges. This also worked for me with the Duron 600 on the A7V.

No mention of a 700 but as Regalk says, it works on his 600.

Having all the L7 bridges closed on any Athlon or Duron takes the voltage up to the 1.85 max

First off, I am having the same problems with an unlocked Duron 750 on my rev 1.2 KK266. Once I connected the L7's it will run at 1000MHz (yes!) at 1.85v, but when I try and adjust the multiplier it goes all over the place. When the FSB is set at 100MHz, the board will usually give me a multiplier of 8x or 5x no matter what I set in BIOS. At 133MHz FSB, the board will not POST no matter what multiplier I set - even though it runs fine at AUTOx133FSB=1000. I am using the conductive pen to connect the L1's, so I figure that is not the problem.

Has anyone RMA'ed the board to Iwill yet? Are they responsive? I have heard mixed reviews. It's too bad I ordered this more than 30 days ago from NewEgg, and had it sitting on my shelf until a few days ago.

On the plus side, 1000MHz with the TurkOC BIOS gives some impressive scores. I can run Prim95 all night without a problem, but it will barf after about 10 minutes of the Torture test. I guess I'll just mod the chip for a 7x multiplier and run at 133x7.0=933 for 100% stability. Hopefully, Iwill can get this right...
