I have made a circuit template to go around the pits and connects all the bridges at once. You can use the defogger kit just as with the old style CPU's. This literally took 30 seconds!!! The template is 1 mil vinyl- cut on my plotter. No worry about filling the pits with non-conductive material. I'll have my XP1500 next week to test. Anybody want to try them out before that??

Link Sorry about the fuzziness- only a 1.0 megapixel camera.

Someone- I need exact dimensions between L1 bridges to make a real size template.

I like to try it out seems like a great idea. But I would assume that the l1 bridges are just too close together.

Anyways I want one mow:)

If you need dmnoney too ship whatever PM me or whatever.

Looks great! Nice work! Check out the pic if ya haven't already. Also, I think I read somewhere that the XP bridges are actually spaced out slightly further than the Athlon-C's, not sure if ya compensated for that already.

JustStarted- I totally would, but I've been working my tail off the last few weeks and it won't end anytime soon......its that time of year in the financial world. With a Pal8045, fully loaded out drive bays, side blowholes, lotsa PCI etc, it takes a while for me to strip everything down to the CPU again :( Would still love to try it out though.....awesome potential for those traces once the specs are set.

No problem, I'll have my XP next week. I got some dimensions off the AMD site to work with till then. I think the final version will be a template indexxed off the core so it will line up perfectly with the bridges.

is this a 1:1 size pic to use, or did u just made this to give us an idea of how it should look like? I'm not sure what are u trying to accomplish. I think u should expand on your procedure......

Here is the problem with the Pal8045 and the Swiftec, just takes too long to get to the CPU if you need to. It does make you feel safe having such a secure way to hook the HSF on, but it sure makes it tough to get back off. Sorry this was off-topic. I hope it works for you JustStarting when you get your XP.
