😕

First noticed it yesterday at work, by this morning I had a nice series of blisters and puffy skin on my right eyelid. Left work early and saw a doctor, yep, I have shingles. Got some acyclovir (BIG dose, 800mg 5 times a day) and set up an appointment with an opthalmologist for 8:20AM tomorrow morning.

🙁

I should clarify: I've previously had chicken pox (when I was 4 years old or so), so this is just a recurrence; it's painful and puffy, and it carries some risks (namely eye infection+scarring), but it's not as bad as it would be if I didn't have chicken pox before.

And I'm not really contagious, thank god.

You can give someone chicken pox if they come in direct contact with your affected area

Technically, yes, but I don't typically rub my eye then immediately afterward rub their eye. Or vice versa.

I'm one of the lucky ones that has never had chicken pox...I hope to never get it. I've been around it several times when it was in the "catchy" stage too. The doctor told me I might just have a natural immunity...
