I was using G3 and it worked ok but on a whim I decided to download Azureus since so many others were using it.

1. The encryption seems to work.

2. Lots of features almost to many.

3. Great speed seems like it connects better with other Azureus clients.

The only area of question is whether others use the fall back options on the encryption ?

Switch to uTorrent and you'll be even happier.

Azureus can sometimes use up a LOT of memory (ram). uTorrent is super small, and has just about all the same features as Azurues in the same locations. Took me very little time to make the switch and get uTorrent up and running the same way as I had Azureus.

No it doesnt...i hated that Azureus used Java...that thing was a memory hog.

I made the switch to uTorrent a few months ago and have been using it ever since.

I downloaded uTorrent a couple of days ago as well but haven't used it really yet. I did open it and look around at the features.

utorrent uses a ton of memory too once you have a good number of torrents going. mine's using up ~600-700mb right now.

edit: oops, forgot i closed about a hundred torrents last week. only using ~300mb now.

To those that says Azureus is a memory hog, I had no problems with memory being used.

Azurues is the most feature filled of any torrent client, IMO. Though I have yet to see the features of utorrent. The program uses about 30-40Mb of memory so I have no complaints.

(and yes, I sometimes have upwards of +20 torrents at a time.)

utorrent ftw. about 6% the memory footprint of azureus for me.

Using utorrent now and it does use less memory and doesn't freeze the computer as much as Azureus does, utorrent doesn't have the same features that Azureus has but I don't really use most of the features anyways. I do like the search feature that utorrent has, it's very handy.

I'll keep Azureus just in case I need a full feature client.

i cant even torrent. Ive tried bittornado, azureus, pretty much EVERYTHING. but my god damn ISP is throtlling torrent ports in my area. (Rogers to be exact) and i dunno how to solve this 🙁.

Azureus and utorrent have encryption now and you should use a different port from the standard torrent port 6880. It may solve the problem.
