I have seen the light... DSD is my God!

Finally got something capable of playing SACD & DVD-A.

I have a few hybrid SACD's with a Redbook layer, & after switching my player between the layers a few times I have to say that Redbook needs a bullet in the head. And this is on mediocre (at best) equipment:

Pioneer DV-563A
Kenwood VR-606 Receiver
Grado SR-60's

Now I need a bunch of good SACD music, after this listening to CD's is going to be painful.

Semi technical SACD info

Anybody know of any software that can rip/decode DSD streams? If SACD's use a 4.7 GB layer they must be similar to DVD's, maybe a DVD drive could read them... Of course then I'd need a sound card capable of playing them, but damn lossless stereo SACD rips would be sweet.

How's the bass response? I've heard that its lacking in SACD. I think an SACD player is going to be my next upgrade in my system.

DVD-A is pretty awesome, but few people have the equipment nessecary to play it.
I don't think it'll be the next audio format however, neither will SACD.

I'm honestly not very impressed with the DVD-A I've tried this far. Granted I only have one DVD-A disc, & I have several SACD's but ALL the SACD's sound great (haven't been able to find DSOTM yet, figures that would be missing when I get an SACD player). It's definitely better than CD, but on the discs I have the SACD tracks are far, far superior to the CD.

As for bass response, I didn't have any issues when I was playing through my speakers. I switched to my Grados to do some real critical listening though, since they far outshine the majority of my speakers.
