yeah ... but can you imagine changing the batteries in that smoke detector.
It looks like the battery already exploded.

Build the cat tree strong enough for a human to climb too, then just get on the beam. :p Actually it's hard to tell the scale there but not sure if you'd be able to reach the smoke detector from standing on the ledge of the beam. Might need to bring a small stool that sits on both sides of the beam. Getting a little sketchy at that point, especially because you'll find yourself having to do it at 3am when it starts to beep.

That place looks fun for the cat though. My cat would totally try to walk along the edges of that beam, and probably fall off.

Seems to be a universal constant.

My dog would too but probably wouldn't fall because the dumbass would jump. I swear he was raised by cats, my buddy watched him when I went on vacation one year. Went outside to him just walking down the top of a chain link fence like it was no big deal. Never seen him do that myself but I know you can't keep him in a chain link fence he just hops right over them and hes a small 45lbs. lab mutt.

When I first got him I was out front in the driveway and had him in back. Next thing I know hes coming towards me full speed and hes a fast sumbitch. He leaps off this 6 foot wall down to me in the driveway. Legs trying to run the air with this oh shit look on his face. Hit the driveway and just kept running like ahh that wasn't that bad.
