My friend brought his old computer over to my place since it had stopped working. I have been attempting to test it out, and have discovered that everything works, but not in the current setup.
The system was a ABIT K-7 RAID motherboard with an Athlon1300.
The system will not boot in its current configuruation, but I have tested the processor on another machine, and that the processor is fine. I also put a different processor (Athlon850) in the motherboard, and that works fine. The power supply seems good, as well as the RAM.
THerefore, the parts seem to be good, but for some reason, will not boot up. I removed the motherboard/chip from the case, and set it up on a cardboard box (since I thought there might be a short in the case) but it will not boot. Will not do anything. No beeps, no video. Any ideas what this could be? The system had worked for years, and now just seems to want to act strange, considering all the components are still good :-/
