i have no cd-rom

I have the SONY CD-W/RW CRX230E, but as of now I have no CD-ROM. I recieve this message in Device Manager.

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Please help =(.

- Power down.
- Unplug it.
- Power up.
- Power down.
- Plug it back in.
- Power up.

If that doesnt work, try reinstalling the software that came with it. If that doesnt work, try putting it on a different IDE cable. If that doesnt work, reinstall windows (repair). If that doesnt work, backup important data, reformat, reinstall windows. If that doesnt work, kill yourself.
