I hate Star Wars. Really. The Matrix Trilogy sucked too, only the first one was good. I've never seen an episode of the Sopranos either, you're not alone. But LOTR was awesome, man!

Star Wars Episode IV was great story and it didn't need the other stories before it to stand on its own. Think about it, if George Lucas had made Episode 1 first the series would never have gone anywhere. Star Wars Ep I would be some crappy sci-fi movie from the 70s and George Lucas would be living in a trailer in San Bernardino and remembering his glory days when he made American Graffiti.
