I have never seen a BMW ActiveHybrid on the road

I guess it depends. People on bimmerfest are getting the lease on AH3 cheaper vs 335i due to incentives/subsidies

I think I've seen two 5 series Hybrids here in DC in the past week. But yeah, I think they are a rare breed. And make no sense.

If you can afford a 5 series, you probably aren't too bothered spending $200 extra a year in gas. It's $15,000 more than the standard model, and only $410 cheaper than the Grand Turismo. I'd rather get the GT.

I haven't really looked, but don't ever recall seeing one. On the other hand, I have spotted at least 20 different Tesla S running around so it's not like people aren't spending money on green.

I see it at work a lot. Just 1 though. Someone with a reserved spot in the parking garage right at the door. Had euro plates on it a for a while too.

I've seen maybe 4-5 total around here. This being said, I see Teslas almost daily, and even a few Fisker Karmas here and there.

You and I know that, but John Smith remembers the GM diesels of the 80's and says NEVER AGAIN!

I think VW is single handidly changing that perception. I swear I see more TDI Jetta's and Passat's around here than I do gassers.

Heck out of a parking lot of about 200 cars, I think there's 10 TDI's and only 2 hybrids.

I guess I'm skewed living in LA...the Prius capital of the world (seemingly). I do see a number of TDIs around. I considered buying one except VW 😉 Give me a diesel Honda and I'd be all over it.

I see one every day, the guy drives like a maniac all over the place.. he works in my building too.. ill go out to look for his car

I'm still waiting for Mazda to finally get their diesel stateside. Just scared it's going to be priced to the point of being a novelty.

BMW's hybrids should be based around the 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder engine. The 3.0 turbo I6 is a great engine, but it doesn't really make sense for the hybrid.
