There's a big difference. Even a skinny chef eats. Said person may also very much enjoy their food - they just don't overeat. Eating is a necessity of life. It's possible to live and not read. However, I wouldn't trust a writer who doesn't read, and I've seen some movies (some very "successful" movies) whose screenplays were so bad the writer was evidently a bad reader indeed. Try Blade. And to a lesser degree, The Matrix. Some of that dialog was absolutely embarrassing.
