I have a HP 215 digital camera. granted its not the best but it serves its purposes. This camera is #2. The first one i bought about 1.5 years ago and it just stopped working with in 2 months took it back down and they replaced it on the spot. I bought the extended warranty incase it happend again.

So #2 has been working fine until about 2 months ago. We took a family vacation to Yellowstone and before i packed the camera i turned it on and the display was totally hosed, lots of lines and very pixelated but you could bearly read CF Error on the display. so that was dissapointing. When we got back from our vacation i went to best buy and they took it and sent it off for repairs. 3 weeks later my camera i got my camera back in the mail and they didnt fix it!!! :| same exact problem!! :|:| So I take it back down (the closest best buy is a 30 mile one way trip) and told them its still not fixed. Ok so they take it and put a "Rush" on it. 2 weeks later i get a call from best buy saying my camera is in and come down and pick it up. ????? what the hell they mailed it last time. So I went down today and pick it up. the "tech" takes it out of the big plastic shipping crate and looks at the repair report and starts to examine the camera. I asked him what was wrong and he explained that the repair report stated that it wasnt fixed because of "Impact Damage" on the left side... Ok now i start to loose my cool. He doesnt understand why they put that down on the report because there is NO DAMAGE AT ALL on the camera. he called his supervisor and they both have a puzzled look and both agree that there is no damage at all anywhere on the camera. :|:|:|

I take the camera from them to look it over and the bastards didnt even open the case, the seal on the bottom is still entact and not even a minute scratch on any of the screws. So its being sent again the third time to be fixed. im really pissed, the more i think about it the more pissed i get, I have missed two of my kids bday parties because some stupid ass repair dork is too lazy to do his/her damn job. Im going to call the manager at the store tomorrow and let him know what is going on.

Store management has nothing to do with this. Call to the store and request the number to whatever service center they use. Thats where you problem lies. Trust me, I've had nothing but problems when I send customer units out to the service center and it sucks when customers jump down your throats for something you have no control over. Give the tongue lashing to those that earn it.

Then again...some of the techs out there don't know how to do shipping//manifest correctly. But yes, most of the time the Service Center is to blame.

Worked at the Service Center in Chino, CA and thingswere abit hectic there when I worked there. They had just moved the Service Center from Azusa to Chino so they were back logged a good 1 month. Looks like your camera may have gone to Chino.

Im not going to rip the manager a new one, i know its not their fault but they do need to be aware of my issue. they cant fix it if they arent aware of a problem.

Wait, you are supposed to have stuff repaired?

All this time I have been mislead by various manufacturers into believing that all consumer electronics priced under $200 are basically disposable?
