I have never fired, held, or even seen a gun in person. Anyone else?

With the notable exception of firearms on an officers uniform, can't avoid seeing those at some point. And when I say never seen I mean in person, seen lots on TV and in movies being fired. Anyone else the same? Being Canadian and not having gone down to the states much I often find it hard to judge how different the gun culture is in the US. I know it's definitely not as crazy as some would have you believe but I also know that guns are used a lot more there than here. But then guns aren't exactly rare in Canada either, but I know my lack of experience with them is not that unusual.

I have seen, held, and fired many different guns

Have plenty of friends that own a different array of guns as well.

I have definitely seen, held and fired a few weapons in my day. In fact, I am probably going to the range to fire off a few rounds this week.

Some of the gun people I know could arm a small army. They claim it's for investment purpose.

A gun is a gift you traditionally give a newborn baby here in the states...male or female. You can buy a gun and/or ammo out of a vending machine here. Coke is $1 a can and you can buy 6 rounds of .357 Magnum for $2...you have to swipe a credit card for the gun though. :p

I've seen weapons but never fired. It is very common in countries outside of the USA.

I have seen, held, and fired quite a few guns. On two occasions I killed a deer with a gun. I found out hunting isn't nearly as cool as everyone makes it out to be and I haven't fired a gun in years though.

There's nothing wrong with guns IMO. I just don't have much use for them.

Fired a 30-30 rifle, 12 gauge shotguns for skeet/trap (repeating, single and double barrel), 22 cal rifle and some (modified to be CA legal?) semi automatic H&K sub-machine gun. The last one was rented by a buddy at a range we went to.

My grandfather had quite a number of rifles and shotguns. I never held or fired any of them though.
My father had a rifle, but I never fired or held that one either.
A really good friend of mine practically has an arsenal of weapons. I held several of them, but never fired any of them.

I got married last year, so the idea of having a gun at the house has crossed my mind. I sometimes travel for business, and the idea of my wife being at home alone without any real protection concerns me. We live in a very safe suburb, but still...

Other than a .22 rifle in the Boy Scouts, a Pellet gun my dad has and my BB gun, I've never shot a real gun...

I've seen standard rifles for deer hunting and such though.

Don't think I've seen one outside of a police officer's belt or the gun display at K-Mart/Wal-Mart. Never fired one nor held a real gun, but I've wanted to go down to the shooting range for a while.
