I have lots of questions about MoBos....

1. Does a MoBo with 1333MHz FSB and support for Core 2 Duo also support Pentium Dual Core?

2. Is 2 PCI ports enough for most stuff, and what else than GPUs do you use PCI for?

3. How many PCI slots does an 8800 GTX need, and does dual slot coolers use 2 PCI slots?

4. Is 4 pin ATX12V contacts enough, or should I go with 8 pin?

Thanks in advance. I might also post more questions latter.

1. Yes, lot's of stuff uses PCI, Modems, Sound Cards, RAID Controllers, etc, etc.
2. That's really up to you and what you want to add into.
3. None, GTX uses PCI-Express not PCI, no it doesn't use 2 PCI slots, just 1 PCI-Express and 2 slots on the back of the case(sometimes it might block a slot on the motherboard though).
4. Most of the time.

You really should clarify what your actually talking about, PCI is not the same as PCI-E and is not the same as PCI-Express either.

Go to newegg.com and find the Motherboard your looking for then click specifications and it will tell you what processors and other items it supports.

Oh yeah, that is what I was wondering about. What do people mean when they say 2 slots on the back of the case?

Edit: What does one need 8 pin for? Would I need 8 pin for an 8800 Ultra? And would I need 8 pin for an E2200 OCed to 3.3 GHz.

Yes.

To be clear, PCI and PCI-Express are not the same thing. Most people will actually use 1 or 2 regular PCI slots (for a sound card, and possibly something else). PCI is gradually being phased out in favor of PCI-Express x1, the smallest PCI-Express slots. Very few PCI-Express x1 cards are currently available.

Graphics cards use PCI-Express x16, the largest PCI-Express slots. These slots can also be used for physics processing cards if you have money to burn, RAID cards, or anything that you might plug into a PCI-Express x1 slot (such as a soundcard).

3. How many PCI slots does an 8800 GTX need, and does dual slot coolers use 2 PCI slots?

It needs 1 PCI-Express x16 slot. Dual-slot coolers physically obstruct one of the slots next to where they are plugged in. Even though they do not actually plug into the other slot, they block it so that you cannot install another card there.

4. Is 4 pin ATX12V contacts enough, or should I go with 8 pin?

4 is fine. Do not worry about this at all. Buy a power supply with the "4+4" connector (which can plug into the 8-pin connector, or be split in half for the 4-pin connector).
