I had it 2 years or so ago on my left, now it's on my right. I was on percocet's for it for like 6-7 months and I don't want to do that again.

6-7 months? Sheesh. I've had mild bouts with tennis elbow (back when I played tennis) but it was gone within a week or two. Best of luck to you - chronic pain sucks.

What is the underlying cause? One side of my right post medial epicondle tendon detached in high school when I was pitching in a baseball game. After the tendon was surgically reattached, I suffered from epicondlitis for a long while. Underlying cause was scar tissue formation at the surgical point of attachment. Had to have multiple surgeries to clear that stuff out before my elbow was finally back to normal.

Not sure what the underlying cause is. I use GPS surveying equipment and hold out on the same position day on and day out, so that is a possibility.
