Before I start, I love popping zits. I'm 17 and barely have any, but I love squeezing out the pus and such. And if I still feel a bump after it's popped, I just keep squeezing with the blood coming out until all the pus comes out.

So far, it's been fine. I pop em, apply anti-bacterial cream, they go away.

Well, I guess I've recently had too many and my mom bought me Proactiv. I just applied it and I think it's a scam. All I did was wash my face, rub some sort of alcohol on it and then applied lotion. $40 for a month supply of this stuff? This better work. How soon should I expect results?

I say by the 3rd day you should notice that your existing acne is shrinking with little scarring.

Oh.. btw... that's nasty what you do.

well that was a little more detail than I wanted to read. Generally, anything that is advertised on an infomercial, I consider a snake oil product.

Me too. Plus I guess I can't pop zits anymore while using the product.

I use Proactiv, and it works really well.

I love the "repairing cream" which is 2.5% of the acne killer stuff. If I ever have a bad pimple forming on my nose (those are the worst, you can't pop em and if you try they get all big, red, and swollen) I put a glob on my nose and the next morning it's ripe to pop. :D

Sorry for the disgustingness of my post.

all proactiv is is 3 things, an acne cream, a face wash, and an alcohol face rub. They sell each seperately at any target, and u can get it for much cheaper.

Proactiv is nothing but a 10% oxy cream, moisterizer and exfoliant packaged together and marketed for 4x the price you can get them elsewhere.

The key is how you are told to apply the oxy cream. ALL over the ENTIRE affected area once or twice daily, e.g., your entire face. This is the secret to making oxy creams effective. You cannot simply chase pimples with the stuff.

In short, Proactiv is a rip off. It's like me repackeging asprin and selling it for a premium claiming it is more effective than any other asprin.

The best thing is to go to a dermatologist and get a personalized daily skin care regime in place.

You should stop popping those zits. From what I hear if you pop them they can cause craters. I wouldn't know though I never had that many zits when I was a teenager.

I have a few friends/relatives who've tried it. They were overall pleased with the product, but not enough to justify the cost. That is when the problems begin. They will NOT let you cancel. Even after cancelling they will continue to charge your credit card month, after month, after month. Pretty much all of them have had to cancel their credit card to stop the billing - even after numerous phone calls and letters telling them to stop charging the monthly fee. Good luck on that issue.

Also if you pop your pimples they can spread to other areas of your face

My mom somehow bought it at a retail store.

Good. If you like it, just don't sign up for their monthly billing. Keep going to the store even if it costs a slight bit more.

Heh, I'm going thru the same thing as you (the whole popping thing). I have a lot less than before now, don't know if I'm growing out of them or whatever, but I started using Clearasil too recently
