I have just been laid-off.... :(

Today is really not my day.

I woke up today finding that the bread I bought for my breakfast was covered by Ants..... I cleaned up all the mess and go out of the door. Then, I found one of the tire on my car is flat and I had to change to spare......... After all of these messes, I found out that I've been laid-off after I got to work..............

Does anybody know how hard it is now to find a job as an ASIC Design Engineer in San Jose? I had 15 months of experience.

Been there man... It sucks but keep your head up. If nothing else, this will teach you to be frugal with your money. 15 mos. experience is pretty good, you should be able to find another job contingent on the economy remaining steady. It is a sucky time to be in any IT field right now though.

27K should last you a while unless you're living a really exorbitant lifestyle.

You're lucky you have that, most people (myself included) have little or no savings.

feel for you man, I got laid off a week after the attacks. Still looking for work to fit my schedule. Had many jobs offered but they conflicted with morning classes I have. PM shifts seem to be non-existent around here

anyway, with the experience you have and the money youve saved, you should be able to make it. Good Luck

Sorry to hear that. I want to help but my company is on a hiring freeze since April.

If you want to be a FPGA convert in the future then keep me in mind when things get better. (I'm no recruiter but a lowly software dude in a semi-conductor co.)

Well, I am a Canadia and have only H1B in the states. I paid taxes while I am employeed and got nothing while I am unemployeed.
