So my inside connection at Fry's gave me a call today saying they were clearancing out some of the older tube HDTVs went down there and found this beauty, demo model for $299.90. No tax (Thank you Oregon!). Let me tell you, that is one HEAVY ARSE tv. It my GF and I 30 minutes just to unload it from her car and get it up the stairs into our apartment. I didn't have time to set it up and play with it though had to go to work :(
So fellow Ferengi, did I do good?

Lucky Bastard!;)

I got the 34" widescreen model last November for around $780.
Unfortunately, it was a refurbished model (hence the low price) and it's been hell since.
The screen "flashes", blinks, with a static like discharge. Happens once a minute and then maybe 10 times in a row.:( Looks quite dangerous, and I think it'll kill the tube in the long run. Made in Mexico in 2004 I found out.

Hopefully, your HD days will be trouble free.

yeah, definitely a good deal...despite being 4:3, those tubes are gorgeous. Great pixel definition, color and the blacks...oh so gooey blacks.

Congrats, you done good ;)

Wow, great deal. I'm waiting for prices to drop and the TV sets to become light enough so only one person is needed to carry it.
