I used AS5 as my thermal compound....

I doubt temps will get thsat much lower its been a few days now with the computer on mostly 24/7.

will be doing load testing later...

Also note these temps are with my new fan set up....

One -- 120 mm exhaust and one 120 mm intake(Both Coolermaster)

One 80mm side panel and one

One 80 (L) X 80 (W) X15 (H) mm slim fan blowing air onto the memory.

I have the 120mm Thermaltake Smart fan on the XP120.

As Well as the Zalman VF 700cu on my video card!!

All my fans are controlled by the Zalman ZM-MFC1!!

I did away with the upper 80mm fan on the top of the case!

Well Jedi, we'll see what I can pull off with that fan controller. Arrives tomorrow 😀 Looks good though

Edit: What's your ambient room temp?

I live on the coast in Monterey,Calif.

The temperature year round varies litle from between 55-75 degrees farenhiet!!

Or 12.7c to 23.8c 🙂

anything over 75 is considered a heatwave...lolol

wow, that's awesome. my xp-120 is idling @ 35c right now.... 😕 it's 74c in my room right now. but 3 fans in my case aren't hooked up yet, we'll see what happens when they are!

remember I use to have a total of 8 fans..not including the CPU and Vid card....

after becoming friends with JBDan and reading alot of his posts about low noise fans and other peoples I decided to go with all 120mm....

The only reason I have the 2 - 80mm fans is one is on the side window and is led Blue like all the 120mm fans; the other is a 80mm slim Zalman black fan with a zalman bracket blowing air onto the memory.

using the slim actually gave me more room to blow air onto the memory.

I also have that Zalman metal bracket with the Zalman name on it on my window...lol

I basically took apart ---http://www.jab-tech.com/ZM80C-HP-Optional-Package-ZM-OP1-pr-1831.html!!!

I used this bracket to mount the fan to cool my memory...

Works well.

Have a nice day!!

Yes......as of this morning it started to hit 27 c at idle....
the last 2 days I was idling at approx 29c - 31c....
🙂

I am a noob, but how can you put a fan on top of that???

My case has room for 2-80mm case fans in front....
1-120 mm case fan in the rear....
1-80mm case fan on the side window...
1-80 mm case fan mounted to the ceiling or roof or top of the case...
besides its very possible to mount more fans if you want to get creative...lol

Hope that helped!!

Nice temps Jedi...did you block off the top vent? I think the Smartfan is thermally controlled....correct? Does it seem to you to run at its lowest speed or is it controlled via your controller as well? on the CM fans. Good to see you can concentrate a little more now that airplanes are not taking off in your case.🙂

So you can't put it on top of an XP-120 but you can on an XP-90C?

I have all the fans controlled by the Zalman Multi fan controller....

yes supposedly the fan speed does vary depending on the sensor...
