I have gullible co-workers...

It is starting to become a regular occurrence to find print-outs of e-mails in the break room at work. What kind of e-mails, you ask? Think of any urban legend that you have received junk e-mail about. USPS to start charging U.S. citizens a fee for sending e-mails. Toxic chemicals leeching from plastic containers into the food you carry in them. National Do Not E-mail registration so you can stop receiving spam. That kind of crap.

I finally got sick of it and started printing up the pages from Snopes debunking this crap, but still they print it up and leave it in the break room. I am tempted to send this person a Nigerian e-mail from a new Yahoo mail account, just to see what they do.

When I find this crap in my inbox I send a link to relevant breakthechain.org page to "reply to all" with a nasty note to the person who sent it to ME, saying "it took me less time to find this that it did to read that email, why did you waste my time???"

This reminds me... has anyone else heard about the post office starting a 5 cents tax on all emails?

Thats ok though, cause microsoft is testing an email system and paying you to forward mail around, once it gets to you it will be worth tens of thousands of dollars

Sure but they were talking about our neighbor to the north.

Obviously, it didn't happen.

And until then, nickels are worth $0.08 each, so all you have to do is sell a few, and you're still making money. :D

You must be popular.

It takes even less time to delete the email, than it does to do what you do.

ONE EMAIL, sure. But it takes way less time to google, paste link, press "reply all" than it does to delete EVERY ONE of those forwards I will receive from that particular person over a lifetime, if left unchecked. Call it an investment in the future.

As to being popular, I haven't lost any friends over if that's what you mean. A good friend isn't going to drop you because you chew him or her out for being lazy (and wasting your time). I get enough spam, I don't need it from friends too.

We have several of those people here. They're the same ones that think the sky is falling when they get a penis enlargement spam email and vehemently deny ever giving out their work email on the internet.
