I have given up hope for the software/games/programming forum

Summary of all threads:

1. A request/question of something answered in many of the stickies
2. What is the best Bit Torrent Client? (use search, 1000 threads on this)
3. What is the best Bit TOrrent site for torrents? (use search, 1000 threads on this)
4. What is teh best firewall/antivirus (use search, 1000 threads on this)
5. Repost about HL2 or WoW (use search, 1000 threads on this)
6. EA sucks (use search, 1000 threads on this)

gets boring after a while. I hope you guys get a seperate Programming forum and a seperate games forum.
 
I'm not sure any of that is a peculiarity of just the software/games/programming forum.

Sometimes it seems crazy how a particular topic will come up and next thing you know, everyone is latching on to the same idea and asking the same exact questions. I could probably go up into General Hardware right now and suggest that perhaps I need an 800-watt power supply now that I have an X800XT in my system (I don't really) and immediately you'll get all the "Is this power supply enough for my system?" questions time after time after time.

I think all the forumns get boring occasionally. It's the only reason I'm in Off Topic right now. I try to keep my posts balanced between all forumns, keeping the Off Topic posts at a minimum. Lately it's been difficult.

Maybe we can hope for a swing in another direction soon.

Yeah and they are always a thinly veiled con from some lamer to get his CS homework done.
 
I dont agree that there are a thousand threads on how EA sucks... but yeah, the majority of people dont search... as I dont think it's really moderated at all.
 
It's also funny that you are the author of one of the WoW threads on the first page. The ironing is delicious.

Actually, the AT forums are pretty much useless aside from OT, FS/FT and Hot Deals. I've posted stuff in video, cpu, general etc which often goes without an answer ... ever ...

You forgot the 1,000 how to "infringe" movie DVD threads 🙂

In GH it's a pattern:
thread 1 - which DVD burner is teh best
(week later) - which discs teh best for my new burner
(a bit later, still in GH) - what software is teh best for copyin DVDs
