I have fudged my computer by tryin to O/C help!!!

i jus got UT2004 and was totally disapointed by the way it played my system (a XP2000, 512 PC2100, 9500pro) obviously isnt up to par. and i had everything set to LOW or NORMAL at best.

i had read some where about changing the the multiplier and v/core, so i though lets give it a try.

currently the multiplier was 12.5 x 133 , so i tried it on 14x133 which the bios had no trouble telling me i shouldnt...i am aware of the extra heat oc'ing incures but i have a Vlocano 9 with smart fan so i figure im alright. now this mobo can take upto xp3000 of the same type core palomino i think so changing the multiplier shouldnt do much.

how ever i saved the settings and it rebooted.........all i get now is a blank screeen an the lights on my CD drives flash for abit and thats it.........the screen turns off as if there is no signal and the computer jus does nothing

i have tried to clear the bios ram memory thing with the jumper but i get the same result!!!!!!!!!

any help? thanks
 
Palomino's only went up to XP2100... anyway... it's quite possible that you damaged it if your XP2000 is a Palomino. They're made on a larger manufacturing process and experience more current leakage... that was the reason they switched to the Thoroughbred core... smaller manufacturing process, less voltage, less current leakage, less heat.

Only thing I can suggest is to completely unplug the computer from power, and remove the battery from the motherboard and let it sit for a good 5 minutes with the CMOS jumper in the clear position. Put the battery back in, put the CMOS jumper back to normal, plug everything back in, and try again. If it doesn't work, it looks as though you may have damaged something.

The next thing I would try if it doesn't work is to get a different CPU (got any friends with an extra XP1700 laying around?) and try that... if it still doesn't boot, the motherboard is probably damaged.
 
I don't think you system is toast. Just your system can't seem to forget the overlocked settings. Unplug your power cord and remove the battery. Wait for a bit and then put them back.
 
what would i do without u guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 its working!!!!!...jus says CMOS setting wrong press F1 for set up or F2 for default.....i chose default.
