I've got one word for you - pubes.
My beard hairs have to get out to at least .5 to .75 inches before it stops looking scraggly and even then, it has to be combed. Plus shaving, even with Phillips One electric razor is still a PITA. I like the option of having a beard but it looks completely detestable.
Now add to that the fact that it's 90% gray/white with solid black in weird places that make me look like comic book villain.
Almost 40 here and the thinning is real. Of course I cannot slowly go bald in a dignified way, my glorious fro is still somewhat intact on the front, back, and sides... But the balding is following a path from the top right of my forehead back along the edge of my dome to the cap of my head.
It's like a weird cat's tail of thinning that just makes it seem so much worse in the mirror. If you see me from the left it looks like I have a full head of hair. If you see me from the right I look like a clearly middle aged balding man.
Hmm, I know there are only a handful of "normal" patterns to MPB (male pattern baldness) but I'm not sure that's one of them. It might be alopecia. I say that because women tend to show thinning especially around the "part" line. It might be worth talking to a dermatologist.
I'm not sure about this but I think some folks might have follicles that are sensitive to being disturbed repeatedly, like when parting and combing. For example, my entire adult life I wore socks. The result was that I no longer have ANY hair at the bottom of my legs starting at exactly the point where the socks stopped.
