I have DirecTV - what channel is the Superbowl on?

ON the website, after you make the change it tells you "The change will take place within the next few minutes." That was 15 mins ago. WTF?
Should call customer service. Typically they can make the change instanteously.

DAMN!

I called and they had me tune to channel 400. I got nothing but a blank screen. Which means that I have the "119 round dish" which does NOT get any local channels. 🙁

I'm SOL.

On the upside, the CSR did change me back and deleted the $3 fee or whatever it was.

Is the SB gonna be webcast?

Owned, ruined, failed.

Go to a bar like somebody else said.

How do you normally watch your local ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX affiliates? I mean don't you miss most TV episodes without these channels?

You're story is something a Comcast Digtal Cable commercial would have.

"I wanted to watch the Superbowl, but I found out my dish doesn't even support local channels! I ditched the dish, and switched to Comcast Digital Cable!"

LOL! Now that's quotable. 😀 Nice. 😎

Nope, no bars for me. Especially not tonight.

1. All bars will be charging a $50 "Superbowl party fee" just to get in
2. Drinks will be 2x the normal price
3. Bars will be packed
4. Cops will be sitting in the parking lot, waiting for happy SuperBowl revelers to emerge for instantaneous cuffing and stuffing.

If you won't mind seeing it later, I could burn it [assuming my recording goes well] and mail it out.

But where's the fun in that?

you dont get any local channels. that doesnt sound right, check 388-389. those are the national fox broadcasts. otherwise it could be channel 2-40.

Thanks. Nothing on 388-389. Says "Call to order." The phone rep told me that only the oval dishes can get local channels. Dishes here are round as round gets.

Good thing I'm not hosting a Superbowl Party at my house, eh?

Oh well. I bought five new movies yesterday. Guess it's movie night. 😛

Football was viewed for many decades using rabbit ears - tinfoil optional. This still works.

Bum deal, MichaelD, but this thread amuses me. To be this technology dependent is also troubling, even for a geek forum.

I was rabbit ears only until 6 months ago. I have a crate full of them.

Let me guess...it started with just two.
