Seriously though, yep, I've heard of a few people who got it more than once - and the subsequent times were shingles which are quite painful. Consider yourself lucky, or it's even possible it was a rash that was misdiagnosed when you were 3. Most likely, it was a very mild case when you were 3 though.

More commonly, however, the 2nd time it shows up as "Shingles" (Yikes!) I've never had shingles, but apparently VERY painful and feels like your nerve endings are right on the surface of your skin!!!

My mom just got Shingles, which, I thought was the "adult" version of chicken pox. She had them when she was younger as well.
