I Have Big Problems!!

Ah, Where should I begin on this one. I turn on my computer, It reads the Secondary Master, but not the Primary. I have no Idea what is wrong. I took out the hard drive, which is a Western Digital. And Moved the Jumpers to Single, and Master..But I haven't tried Slave yet. I got too mad to even attempt this. I don't know If my settings are wrong or what. I don't really know how the settings are suppose to be. I have tried using Fdisk, but it says "No Fixed Disk Present." Nothing seems to help. The hard-drive makes an awful noise, like a sreeching sound. Well, thats about all that I really know so far. Any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Your drive is more than likely dead. Probably a bearing went in it, and now it does the PC doesn't recognize it anymore because the drive doesn't complete it's power on sequence in enough time. Hope you backed everything up on the drive.

The drive has crashed and burned. Go buy a new one, reinstall your operating system, and go on with your life. You have two chances to recover your data; slim and none.

Own your own you have only two chances; slim and none but if the data is truly important there are companies out there that specialize in data recovery for a premium.

Chamerkitty RMA it so you get a new drive as long as it is still under warranty. Don't just throw it out.
