I have been seriously considering a Sony a6000

I have been using dslrs for years(casual use, family ect) but I have been looking online at user reviews of the a6000 and am getting more and more convinced this is the camera for me. Has anyone here went from a dslr to this camera?

I did, for about 3 days.

Don't judge the body based on the kit lens.

The menu system is sporadic compared to what i'm used to.. it can be mastered.

It's a totally capable body ... that with the new $250 50mm f/1.8 and you will be taking some great photos.

If you have $, A6300 seems to be worth it (other than potential 4K overheating issues)

A6300 isn't that much smaller than dSLR, but it's cheaper and seems to have more bleeding-edge technology (autofocus, 4K, burst)



if you want a true "companion" camera to a dSLR, look at the RX100 line. Point & shoot, 1" sensor
no interchangeble-lens, but it's small and can bring to concerts

a6000/a6300 is more of a replacement camera toa dslr

Biggest issue is that the a6300 is more than double the street value price of the a6000 (something like $1100 vs $500?)

At that point, I'd consider a full-frame A7ii, $1200 for that grey-market model.
