I've been having terror attacks for the last 2 weeks. I wake up petrified that I'm not breathing. Last night I got out of bed and started to hyperventilate. I fall back asleep and 30 minutes later it happens again.

I'm felling stressed since I've been home. A lot of personal issues have cropped up.

Maybe I'm over stimulated? I'm on my laptop all day, and when I go to bed I'm on my smartphone. I have a tendency to fall asleep with my smartphone on.

Maybe I need to unplug and get some fresh air. :'(

How do you know whether, just before you wake up, something horrible isn't standing over your bed and reaching for your throat?

I dont take laptops or phones to bed with me. It teaches your brain that bed is not for sleep.

Try getting in a jog and lukewarm shower late at night. You'll sleep better.

The reason I think its stressed induced is because I didn't have this issue in Korea.

You need a reason to keep on breathing. You'll not find it here. Go outside.

Try this, take your cell phone/tablet put it on your head board or night stand and fire up a voice recording app to record you sleeping. Wake up the next morning and listen to it, if you have bad sleep apnea/snoring/stop breathing etc. during sleep you will hear it. Believe me it will scare the he'll out of you. Just try it before going to a doctor which they will send your a slept lab for testing.

That's a great idea. I'm scared to do it though.
