2 weeks ago my father went for a routine check up to see how he was healing from his earlier surgery, as posted by me a while ago.
His feet were swollen after the his earlier surgery because he has poor circulation (diabetes). The hospital decided that he should be admitted for his feet. That was on a Thursday, by the following Saturday his kidney's had shutdown and his blood pressure dropped dramatically. I got a frantic phone call from my sister on Saturday and went to see him.
He was transfered to another hospital that was better equipped to deal with his emergency. He was stabilized and has been improving for the last 2 weeks.
That's the good news.
The bad news is that my dad is looking at spending atleast another month in the hospital. His feet are not doing too well. The doctors are considering amputation if they can't get the infection under control and healed. Yikes! Also, if my dad is released he will be going into a nursing home because he will need 24 hour care. He may go temporarily or permanently.
Either way, I feel very depressed. I am also in charge of the house and my dad's finances. Its kind of lonely having a whole house to yourself.
All of this is why I haven't posted. I have been dealing with way too much stress. I need a vacation.
