I have been awake too long.... need desparate help excel... stupid stat question

I have two data sets... two XY tables. Each has a best fit line and I want to get the "fit" so I can compare them and say "this data fits better than this data"

Is the number I am looking to compare standard deviation?

yes. less is better here.

but it is definitley standard deviation that I'm supposed to be figuring out and then comparing, right?

It really doesen't matter to me what the method is. I just have two data sets that each have best fit lines and I need a good way to copare the fit so that I can say one is better than the other. Somebody please tell me what to use
