I have attracted the Final Fantasy bug

I was at my local Funco Land trading in a few crappy SNES titles when I decided to get Final Fantasy Chronicals.

Now I am hooked on FFIV. I haven't gone to sleep before 2 am in 2 weeks.

I now have some direction in my life. DEFEAT ALL NUMBERED FINAL FANTASY GAMES

I don't know if I should play Chrono Trigger next or track down FF Anthology.

I plan on getting VII, VIII and IX soon so I'll have them. I'm also gonna get each strategy guide to

I may get Tactics to. Haven't heard anything but great things about that game.

Get Tactics. You won't sleep PERIOD! It's great. FFIV, one of the best, FFVI, also amazing.

I think you mean you have 'contracted' the FF bug I've loved FF since the days of FFVI, almost all of them are awesome. If you're only interested in the early stuff now, I'd say go with VI. VII is the best of them all though...
