Go to amd webpage and look at there recommended list and see if that one is on it...300 watts is a good starting point for the power hungry T-birds.

Also check aopen or search vendors who sell that PS and see if they show it has "AMD approved"

I couldn't find mine but I have had no problems...and a 250 no less....But I just order a 350 watt PS (looking to the future)

I would really get a 350 if you plan on using a 1 gig or better cpu and have multiple HDD's and ide devices...

Better to have more then less

I am getting a Heroichi 350 watt Ps with two fans...**AMD athlon recommended**

at KRI computers for 45.00 and 7.00 for shipping

http://www.servercase.com/Powersupply.html

For ten buck more you can get the sparkle 350 watt...I looked at the full specs and both are equal to each other so it is a matter of do you wnat to go with the brand name...

This is some of the best prices I have seen on PS's...I searched for them at www.pricewatch.com

I have an AOpen HX08 with it's ATX 2.03 300w AMD Approved Power Supply and I'm quite happy with it, and I've had no problems running all my devices off of it,

1.133 Ghz Athlon,
GeForce 2 GTS,
Two IBM 75GXP 7200RPM HDDs,
Pioneer 16x DVDROM,
HP 8x/4x CD-RW,

And of course, the motherboard, the PCI devices, and a couple of extra fans.

Matrix, Are you crazy? Read the post around here...there is something majorly wrong with these boards..They have conflicts galore...In one thread a guy told me that amd has taken the abit boards off of their recommended list...

Top 5 post in technical support post are about problems with abit raid boards...

I can get eight drives, plus a floppy drive, into my Asus A7V133. The HX08 has 13 drive bays, though, so you could any another controler if you wanted. It's got five 5" bays, 7 3" hdd pays, and a single 3" floppy drive bay. I only have a DVDROM, a CDRW, two HDDs, and a floppy drive.. so I've got lots of room for expansion. :)
