I just saw a post that kinda reminded me of this. Should I flash my BIOS with the newest edition, were would I get this, what about the via 4 in 1 thing. I have an abit kt7a raid. LMK
Okay I should have been more specific, i don't really know what all that stuff does, is there a point to using those drivers or a new BIOS, or anything else that didn't come with the board.
You should read what each individual update does. Via has information right on their site that tells you that the INF driver makes the biggest performance improvement normally, but it also tells you if there is an improvement in the one you're to download, and etc... Also, if you are going to update your BIOS, at least have a reason to do it. Most of the problems people try to flash their BIOS for are actually software conflicts, or a screwed up Windows that needs reformatting. Each Bios update has information about bug fixes and improvements. If what you need isn't on there don't get it. Many people end up with a worse BIOS as a result. I lost the ability to go into standby last time I "updated". You should get the latest BIOS from your motherboard manufacturer's website; http://www.abit-usa.com/ along with the flash program you run in DOS. Read all directions on the site. For Via goto; http://www.viahardware.com/download/index.shtm#inf
